On Spiritual Charlatans

On spiritual charlatans and Quacks.
I keep seeing re-posts of online articles (usually
coming from "spirituality"-oriented sources) saying that "traditional" education was designed to turn people into slaves; and is little wonder that it is precisely those "spiritual" gurus who so fervently condemn the education sustem and especially the hard sciences like chemistry, biology and physics (which they claim take away people's creativity). Think about it: If people get educated in hard sciences, and if they value their knowledge and education, who among them will be ignorant enough to believe in the"spiritual" mumbo-jumbo about chakras and "energies" of those self-appointed "*experts* and *masters*? Who will be duped into paying for the useless products and services of those charlatans?! Education --especially "convergent", scientific education of the public-- is enemy number one for those con-artists who want to continue (successfully) pushing their quackery onto people and to get them to pay for it. The general public needs to stay really ignorant and uneducated for those quacks to continue to make their money! Not to mention the fact (which I'm going to mention anyway) that the self-proclaimed statuses such as "expert in energy healing", or "spiritual teacher", or "light work professional", or "reiki master", or "guru" of those charlatans will never be recognized by any sensible scientific or professional community. So all that's left to do for these self-appointed "experts", "masters" "teachers" and "professionals" in fakery is bash and berate the actual, legitimate, verifiable science and the education system that will rightly and justly never recognize them.
And did the education system throughout history turn people into slaves, or did it actually do the opposite, giving people a chance to liberate themselves from slavery and change their sort in life?
In the past, it was actually the RICHEST families, the ruling class who had exclusive access to education, and the overwhelming mass of people who were poor had no hope to be educated, even to learn to read and write, and so no opportunity to change their sort and to advance in society in any way.
Moreover, they had to rely on the rich and the educated to interpret to them what the Bible and other documents supposed to govern the daily life in these times said. For example, the Bible was purposely kept in Latin to only allow the "chosen" equivalents of modern-day gurus (i.e. catholic priests) to be able to read it; and yes, those former-day "gurus"-priests also hated science with passion: they abolished and burned scientific books and sometimes scientists themselves.
Giving people access to education, the ability to write and especially read all these important texts for themselves and make their own conclusions, without constantly relying on the interpretations of these texts by the elite was a huge step toward equality and fairness!
Not to mention that mathematics and other mathematics-based hard sciences develop logical thinking; studying such disciplines develops the pre-frontal cortex as well as self-control. Science is the modern day equivalent of literacy, the opportunity for everyone to know how the world works, in a proven, verifiable way. The opportunity that those spiritual "gurus" attempt to discourage people from taking!
And speaking of divergent thinking in particular, most artists and writers that we admire to this day actually came from the rich and middle, educated classes!
Because of education what's called the Flynn effect occurs: With every generation, as more and more people get access to education, learn new information, exercise their logical abilities, each successive generation gets higher scores on the IQ test. People as a society get smarter.
If that was not the case, and education was the evil invention that turned people into unthinking slaves, then the poorest people of the world still "unharmed" by the education and whose beliefs and explanations for everything are all based on the spiritual fairytales still, would be the smartest, most developed geniuses who know everything of the world they live in. It is obviously not true, seeing all the barbaric practices that happen in societies in places of the world still largely "unharmed by education": bodily mutilations including sex organ mutilations of females, gang rape of family members as punishment for unpaid dept, unquestioned authority of "sorceres", whose decision is unquestionable law in any conflict between villagers in a number of places around the world, and who, in case of such conflict, can name anyone as a perpetrator who used witchcraft to harm others. Becoming the western-world equivalent of such "sorcerers", a "spiritual master" with unquestionable authority, and degrading the society to the point where that society, out of ignorance, would accept it, is the dream of many of those modern-day gurus.
Yes, life is definitely awesome without education and everyone is a genius in a society where everyone is too ignorant know otherwise!
